Tip #5 STOP DOING THIS | ADA Compliance

Button image

Do you recognize this button?

This has to be one of the most famous buttons on the entire web.

We also know it by other names such as "Learn more", "Read more" or "Click here".

Apparently these buttons are wonderful ... but ... THEY ARE NOT.

Sometimes we want to keep a few words to ourselves, or we are used to using or seeing them in many places.

Let me tell you in all honesty ... you're losing hotspots every time you do that.

What does "read more" mean?
What does "Click here" mean?
What does "learn more" mean?

It says nothing to ANYONE.

Help your client and user, and tell him what he is going to do, where he is going to go with the link, what he will find.

Some suggestions:

Instead of "Read more" you can say: "Go to blog"
Instead of "Click here" you can say: "See more services"
Instead of "Learn more" you can say: "Stop using words that are not understood"
