Retailers commonly migrate when their current platform has become costly to maintain, difficult to update, slow on mobile, or dependent on development work for routine merchandising changes. Shopify is particularly compelling when a business needs a stable commerce foundation, strong native checkout, a broad ecosystem, and a store that marketing teams can manage without waiting in a development queue.

That does not mean every retailer should force every requirement into an off-the-shelf setup. Complex B2B pricing, multi-market catalogs, custom fulfillment logic, subscription rules, or highly tailored product configuration may require Shopify Plus, carefully selected apps, or custom development. The right question is not whether Shopify can technically support the store. It is whether the planned architecture supports growth without creating a costly collection of overlapping apps and manual workarounds.
